Jon Harris is one of the authors, producers, and cultural commentators for
the 1607 Project. The 1607 Project represents a revolutionary approach to
studying history generally and specifically the political, economic, and
social culture of the United States. The 1607 Project looks at the “real
America” as told to us by the Founding Generation. To understand
American history, we must go back to the earliest days of our founding,
beginning with the first permanent English colony in Jamestown, Virginia, in
1607. Virginia, in many ways, represents both the ideals and our founders’
vision for the United States of America.
